Get SMART!
Science & Medicine Academic Research Training Program
Sassy Williams, Coordinator, will speak to the club Wednesday, July 23 about this innovative outreach of the Biomedical Research Foundation, LSU Health Sciences Center, and the Caddo/Bossier Parish School systems. Targeting senior high school students, the partnership seeks those students interested in a science or medical career. S.M.A.R.T. students earn 2 science electives while engaging in hands-on research with mentors from LSUHSC.
This is a rare opportunity for those students with the academic and achievement record to engage in forty hours per week for seven weeks during the summer and ten hours during the school year working with researchers in LSUHSC laboratories.
It’s new, it’s under development, but check the club website for current information: http://westshreveportrotary.blogspot.com/
